At Pioneer, we are difference-makers on a mission to serve our local community in ways that inspire hope and connect with people. Individually and collectively, it is our privilege and responsibility to participate in making the Twin Cities a better place to live and work.
In 2019, we internally launched the Pioneer Gives Back Committee (PGB) to establish community partnerships and spearhead local volunteer opportunities for our firm. Our priorities were to apply the majority of our allocated time, talent, and treasure to a specific organization that closely aligned with our values and passions and reserve the remaining allotment for more spontaneous annual giving.
After considering several qualifying organizations, we decided to partner with a local nonprofit called Joy Collaborative.
As an organization, Joy Collaborative is a group of impassioned doers and givers – designers, architects and builders – who come together to transform youth’s personal spaces. They create environments for youth with life limiting conditions because everyone deserves a space where they can be themselves.
Joy Collaborative is our perfect partnership for four key reasons:
1. Our common values
2. Our desire to serve a small, local nonprofit
3. The ability to mutually benefit each other
4. Shared support from the broader Pioneer Team
Together, the Pioneer team and the Joy Collaborative leadership developed a partnership where we can give our consulting talent in our four practice areas (Business Strategy, Business Operations, Organizational Change, and Data Analytics), our time to help implement, and our financial treasure.
Earlier this year, we kicked off our collaboration by aligning on 7 strategic priorities of which we will provide support.
Creating a formalized strategy and building that out in a Vision/Traction Organizer
Hosting a fast-paced planning session around Operation Finance and building out a balance sheet
Impact analysis
Rallying and organizing financial support in alignment with a newly created long-term Fundraising strategy
Structuring and defining board member roles and responsibilities
Developing internal communications
Implementing stronger systems to establish long term organization
